Los Angeles car service, answered.
Everything people ask before they book a chauffeur in LA — how flat-rate pricing works, the airport pickup process, meet & greet, tipping, how far ahead to book, and what you actually get with a Cadillac Escalade and a professional chauffeur. Straight answers, no fine print.
Pricing & payment
How much does luxury car service from LAX cost in Los Angeles?
LAX transfers with Continental are flat-rate by zone — quoted up front before you book, with no surge pricing and no hidden fees. The rate covers the full-size Cadillac Escalade ESV, a professional chauffeur, flight tracking, and gratuity. You see the exact total the moment you enter your pickup and drop-off at ridecontinental.com/booking; nothing changes after the ride.
Is gratuity included, or do I tip the chauffeur separately?
Gratuity is already built into every quoted price — there is nothing extra to calculate or hand over at the end of the ride. If a chauffeur goes above and beyond and you'd like to add something, you're welcome to, but it is never expected. The number you're quoted is the number you pay.
How much is an hourly chauffeur in LA?
Continental's hourly charter is $115 per hour for the first three hours (a three-hour minimum) and $99 per hour after that, gratuity included. The same chauffeur and Escalade stay with you the entire time — for meetings, shopping, a night out, or a wedding day. For local LA-metro pickups, the chauffeur's drive time to you is absorbed, not added to your bill.
Why is a flat-rate black car better than Uber Black or a rideshare?
A rideshare price moves with demand — it surges on event nights, holidays, and bad weather, exactly when you need a car most. Continental locks the rate when you book: no surge, no last-minute driver cancellation, the same black Cadillac Escalade every time, and a professional chauffeur who tracks your flight and waits for you. You trade an app lottery for a guaranteed car.
How do I pay, and when am I charged?
We accept all major credit cards, Zelle, and corporate invoice. Retail bookings are confirmed with a card at the time of booking; corporate accounts can be set up for consolidated monthly invoicing. The quoted total is all-inclusive — fare plus gratuity — so there's no separate charge after the ride.
Airport pickups (LAX & regional)
How does the airport pickup process work?
Give us your flight number and we track it automatically — if your flight is early or delayed, your chauffeur adjusts at no extra charge. For a standard pickup, your chauffeur meets you curbside at your terminal in the black Escalade. Prefer to be met inside? Add meet & greet and your chauffeur waits at baggage claim with a name sign and helps with your bags.
What is airport meet & greet, and is it worth it?
Meet & greet means your chauffeur parks and walks into the terminal to meet you at baggage claim holding a sign with your name, then helps with your luggage to the vehicle — rather than meeting you at the curb. It's worth it when you're arriving from an international flight, traveling with family or a lot of bags, picking up a VIP or client, or simply don't want to navigate a busy terminal. Standard curbside pickup is included; meet & greet is a small add-on.
Which Los Angeles airports does Continental serve?
All of them: LAX, Hollywood Burbank (BUR), Long Beach (LGB), John Wayne / Orange County (SNA), Ontario (ONT), and Van Nuys (VNY) for private aviation. We also handle FBO / private-jet pickups. Every airport transfer is flat-rate with flight tracking and 24/7 availability, including pre-dawn departures and late-night arrivals.
Can you do very early morning or late-night airport runs?
Yes — Continental dispatches 24/7, and 4am LAX departures and after-midnight arrivals are routine. Book the night before (or earlier) at the same flat rate as any other transfer; there's no late-night surcharge.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
Nothing on your end — we're already watching it. Your chauffeur's arrival is timed to your actual landing, not your scheduled one, so you're never paying for a car that showed up two hours early or scrambling for one that left. Flight tracking is included on every airport pickup at no extra cost.
Booking & how it works
How far in advance should I book a car service in LA?
Same-day is often available, but to guarantee a car we recommend booking 24–48 hours ahead. For high-demand windows — concert and game nights at SoFi, Crypto.com Arena or the Hollywood Bowl, awards season, prom season, and major holidays — book several days out, because premium Escalades sell out on those dates first.
How do I book a ride with Continental?
Book online in under two minutes at ridecontinental.com/booking — pick your service, enter pickup and drop-off, and you'll see the exact flat-rate total before you confirm. Prefer to talk to a person? Call or text (213) 373-7040 and we'll arrange everything, including multi-stop days and special requests.
Can the same chauffeur stay with me for a multi-stop day?
Yes — that's what the hourly charter is for. One chauffeur and one Escalade stay with you across every stop, waiting between them and staging curbside before each departure, so you're never re-ordering a car or explaining your day to a new driver. Ideal for executive days, shopping itineraries, wine country, and weddings.
Do you serve areas outside central LA?
Yes. Continental covers all of Greater Los Angeles — Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Bel Air, Malibu, Pasadena, Calabasas, Studio City, West Hollywood, Culver City, Marina del Rey, Manhattan Beach, and Downtown — plus longer runs to Orange County, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Palm Springs on request.
Can I book for someone else, or set up a corporate account?
Absolutely. You can book on behalf of a guest, client, or family member, and we'll coordinate with them directly. Companies can open a corporate account for priority dispatch, a designated booker, and consolidated monthly invoicing instead of per-trip receipts. See ridecontinental.com/corporate.
The vehicle & the ride
SUV vs sedan — what vehicle will I get?
Every Continental ride is a black Cadillac Escalade ESV — the full-size luxury SUV. There's no sedan-vs-SUV decision to make: you get the larger, more comfortable vehicle by default, with room for passengers and luggage that a sedan can't match. It's the same standard whether you're a solo executive or a family of five.
How many passengers and bags fit in the Escalade?
The Cadillac Escalade ESV comfortably seats up to 6 passengers with luggage. For larger groups or events, we can dispatch multiple Escalades that arrive and stage together, so the whole party moves as one.
Is a private chauffeur actually worth it versus driving or rideshare?
It comes down to what your time and certainty are worth. A chauffeur means a guaranteed car at a locked price, no parking, no navigating LA traffic, and a professional who knows the routes and event corridors. For airport trips, business days, special occasions, and anything where being late isn't an option, the difference between 'a car might come' and 'your car is here' is the whole point.
Are your chauffeurs professional and licensed?
Yes. Continental is a properly licensed and insured chauffeured-transportation company — not a rideshare app. Our chauffeurs are experienced professionals, clean and presentable, who know LA's routes, airports, and venues, and who treat your time and privacy as the priority.
Events, weddings & occasions
Do you do concerts, sporting events, and shows?
Yes — event nights are a Continental specialty. We serve SoFi Stadium, Crypto.com Arena, the Hollywood Bowl, Dodger Stadium, the Rose Bowl, Kia Forum, Intuit Dome, BMO Stadium, and the Greek Theatre, among others. Your chauffeur handles staging and the post-event pickup so you skip the parking-lot crush and walk straight to your car.
Can you handle wedding-day transportation?
Yes. Weddings are typically booked hourly so one chauffeur covers the full day — pre-ceremony staging, the ceremony, photos, and the reception send-off — re-positioning between phases as needed. We build the timeline around your run-of-show so the car is always ready before you are.
Should I book earlier for event nights and holidays?
Yes — these are the dates that sell out first. For a big concert, a playoff game, New Year's Eve, Valentine's, prom, or awards season, book several days ahead. Continental keeps a calendar of LA's overlapping event nights and routes around the closures, but the car still has to be reserved.
Still have a question?
Call or text (213) 373-7040 and a real person will sort it out — multi-stop days, special requests, group moves, all of it.
