Calabasas → LAX.
Calabasas to LAX is $245 all-in in a private Cadillac Escalade ESV, about 35 minutes of driving before the city wakes up. The 101 east through Woodland Hills carries all of the risk on this leg, and a Friday afternoon can add 30 to 45 minutes to the same 32 miles. We build the departure around that, which usually means leaving before 2pm for an afternoon international flight and treating any incident on the 101 as a reason to go early rather than to drive fast.

Pickup
Your chauffeur handles the gatehouse at Hidden Hills, Mountain View Estates, The Oaks and Calabasas Park, and we send you the driver name, the vehicle and the plate in advance so they can go on your community's list where the resident has to do that. The car stages at the front drive with time in hand, and the bags are loaded there rather than down at the gatehouse. Estate driveways out here are long and often circular, so tell us which door you will come out of and that is where the car will be.
Drop-off
The drop is at your airline's door on the upper departures level, so tell us the airline when you book. Because the drive is long and the 101 is the variable, your chauffeur tells you where you stand on time once you are past Sherman Oaks and onto the 405 rather than leaving you to read it out of the window. Bags come out onto the curb and the car does not move until you have all of them.
Why Continental for this route
There is no clever way out of Calabasas. Ventura Boulevard runs parallel to the 101 and is slower than the freeway it is meant to bypass, so once the Woodland Hills stretch backs up, the only lever left is the departure time, and that lever has to be pulled before the car arrives. So we read the 101 and the 405 on the morning of your flight and say plainly if the pickup needs to move earlier, which is worth more to you than a chauffeur driving hard on a freeway that is not moving.
Calabasas to LAX, common questions
How much is a car from Calabasas to LAX?
$245, which includes the Escalade ESV, your chauffeur and the gratuity, with nothing added at the terminal. It is quoted for this direction on its own, which is why the run out and the run home are not always the same number, and it is locked once you accept it. If the job changes on the day, we price the change with you before anything is charged.
How long does Calabasas to LAX take?
30-46 min on a clear road, close to the 35 minute measured drive via the 101 east and the 405 south. In weekday traffic expect 60-95 min, with the Woodland Hills stretch of the 101 and then the Sepulveda Pass accounting for nearly all of the difference. Those two stretches are why we set the pickup backwards from your flight instead of adding the drive to the clock.
When should we leave for a Friday afternoon flight?
Earlier than feels necessary. For an afternoon international departure out of Tom Bradley we generally suggest being on the road before 2pm, because Friday on the 101 east can cost you 45 minutes before you even reach the 405. Give us the flight number when you book and we will come back with a specific time. Waiting at the terminal is the cheap kind of waiting; waiting on the 101 is not.
Can you book the return from LAX at the same time?
Yes, and most people on this route do. The two legs are confirmed together and run as separate jobs, so a change to one does not disturb the other. Send the return date with your booking and we will quote the run home alongside this one, so you have both figures before you commit.
What if we are more than six people?
The Escalade ESV takes up to six passengers and four large bags. Beyond that we are quoting a second vehicle, and whether we can staff one for your date depends on the day, so ask early rather than late. Tell us the headcount and the bag count when you enquire and we will confirm in writing what fits, what a second car costs and whether a child seat is needed, before you commit.
