Best time to leave for SoFi Stadium (Rams, Chargers, concerts)

Short version: from the Westside (Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Brentwood), leave 75-90 minutes before gates open. From Hollywood / Downtown, leave 90-105 minutes. From the Valley or Pasadena, leave 105-120 minutes. The 405, La Brea and Century Boulevard back up early on SoFi nights, so 90 minutes before gates is not a cushion, it is roughly on time.

Why SoFi traffic is its own animal

SoFi sits inside Hollywood Park, the same complex as the Kia Forum and the YouTube Theater. On a Rams or Chargers Sunday, a sold-out stadium tour, or a night when the Forum or Intuit Dome is busy at the same time, Inglewood pulls a 70,000-seat crowd into a footprint served by three main inbound corridors: the 405, the 105 and Century Boulevard. By 90 minutes before gates open, all three are stacked.

Tailgaters arrive hours early, so for everyone else the lot entrances slow sharply in the last 90 minutes before the event. Rideshare and taxis are all routed to one designated curb on Kareem Court, reached from Pincay Drive, and on a sold-out night that single approach is its own queue.

The post-event problem

Getting OUT of SoFi is harder than getting in. After a sold-out event the lots empty slowly, and every rideshare request in Inglewood lands at the same moment, which is exactly when app pricing is highest and cars are scarcest. Walking out to nearby streets to find an Uber puts you in residential blocks that fill up fast.

If you parked, you're stuck. If you rideshared in, you might be stuck. If you booked a chauffeured car, the price was locked when you booked and the car is already in position.

The cheaper move that nobody talks about

For a group of four to six going to one event, an hourly booking is often the better value than separate rideshares. Hourly is $138 an hour all-in, gratuity included, with a 3-hour minimum, and that rate is locked when you book. Rideshare is priced at the moment you request it, and the moment a stadium empties is the worst moment to ask. One Escalade, split across the group, also means nobody is left waiting for a second car.

Concert vs football: different math

Concert events at SoFi (the big stadium tours) have a more concentrated entry window because nobody tailgates a concert, most attendees arrive 60-90 minutes before the show. Football games spread their arrivals across 4 hours of tailgating, so the inbound crush is less peaked. Build that into your timing, concerts pack the corridors harder per-minute than football.
